Hi Everyone,
I hope you have been having a good summer. There is still lots of community fun to be had in August and hopefully you have some time to explore some of the smaller communities and their events around Vulcan. At the bottom of the email I also included a list of some of the parks and places to explore outdoors in our County. For example, did you know there is a easy mountain bike trail through Wyndham Provincial Park? It’s a nice place to enjoy the river, paddle, have a picnic or ride bikes. And a Nature Trail to explore in Carmangay. Check out more below. Please share this email, post or print with friends, family and clients.
A couple heads up on warnings around us:
-Twin Valley Reservoir has a Blue-Green algae advisory in effect as well as Enchant Municipal Park. Learn more here https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/news/page1926.aspx
-Due to the extreme hot, dry conditions that exist, and with little to no precipitation in the forecast, a FIRE BAN is now in effect for Vulcan County with respect to all open fires within its municipal boundaries.
All active fire/burn permits are cancelled, and no new permits will be issued until further notice. Burning of any kind is prohibited, including recreational fires. Burning or lighting a fire during a Fire Ban is illegal, and fines and/or cost of fire departments to respond will apply. Please report any smoke sightings or fires immediately to 911. Look up regulations within each municipality and campground before having a fire.
